IO has two generations of missions "Orbit Guard" provides Inspection and Space Situational Awareness services in GEO. Our first, OG-1 was launched on 1 May 2023, the second is launching in 2025 and the third third launching in 2026. "Endurance" is a docking service capable of extending the life of GEO telecom satellites, by taking over AOCS takeover for 5 years. To complete our dynamic and international team, we are seeking an energetic and highly motivated Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our team for 6 months. Job Description - Build concepts and mechanical layouts for new satellite missions and new products in collaboration with internal and external teams. - Apply the Design for X product design principle. - Make detailed design of parts and assemblies using CAD software and translate them into production drawings. - Perform Static and Dynamic Modeling of hardware using FEA tools to ensure survivability for launch loads. - Perform Thermal Analysis and Characterization of hardware, including upgrading the simulation procedures in place. - Test design and test data analysis. - Working closely with the CTO and the Product Owner to finalize design trade-offs. - Leading the maturation toward the PDR and CDR of the spacecraft by identifying all the activities, analysis, and simulations to be performed. - Applying the right standards to ensure safety and reliability of the mission while keeping a NewSpace approach. - You will be responsible for assembly, integration and validation of hardware modules such as cameras, radios, antennas, etc. - You may also be required to contact potential
